The Idea
I grew up in Paris where my parents ran an antique shop on rue des Franc Bourgeois, near Place des Voges in Le Marais, a zone famous for its artisans, ateliers and eclectic antique shops. From an early age I helped my family collect the fine antiques and curiosities that were on display in their store. The passion that drove their livelihood is also in my blood. The thrill of unearthing a one-off piece or sourcing an exceptional bargain is always with me, and provides the inspiration for Le Curieux today.
Thanks to my early years in Paris, and a more recent experience working for one of Sydney's iconic antique retailer The Country Trader, I've decided to create Le Curieux and offer various collections, providing something different.
Style & Quality
In the spirit of a Parisian shop, Le Curieux offers a vintage slice of ”La vie Parisienne’. I have sourced beautiful things from auction houses, flea markets and brocantes across Europe. They are pieces that I love – items that have been part of European life from centuries past to more modern times - always with a story to tell. Most importantly, they are there to be used and not locked away in cupboards or arranged purely for display.
